We’re pumped to have Jamielee Egli as one of our newest brand ambassadors. She’s a senior at West Chester University and helping us get the word out about our newest Saxbys location. One quick look at her Instagram feed and it’s obvious that she’s got serious style and she’s a natural at branding. We picked her brain about what makes an engaging Instagram post and why she thinks this is a crucial step toward a fruitful career in fashion and social media marketing.
Where are you from?
I come from a small town in the Poconos called Lake Wallenpaupack.
How do you describe your aesthetic?
It’s very vibrant and colorful. I try to make it very happy to look at. There’s a warm, bright glow. I like to keep the aesthetic all put together so it flows really well.
What makes a great Instagram post?
You’ve got to be able to catch the attention of your followers and get your message across. Being organized with your posts is also a big plus. People have to want to look at it and want to read about what you’re posting. You need to catch their eye to reel them in and then you can get across whatever point you’re trying to make or promote whatever you’re trying to promote. But it starts by piquing people’s interests.
What makes a great Instagram account?
A lot of things. Just getting who you are and what you value across is the biggest part. Being true to yourself and showing off the things you love is important. For me it goes back to aesthetic. I love to keep everything looking good and consistent.
What are your career aspirations?
When I graduate, I would like to get into social media marketing. I’ve always been into fashion too, so if I can get into the fashion industry and do something that involves social media marketing that would be really awesome.
How important is cultivating a strong Instagram presence to getting into that field?
It’s really important. I’ve been trying to build up my profile and showcase my talents. Things like the Saxbys brand ambassador partnership will really help me build my resume. So if I can keep getting influencer marketing gigs like like this and getting companies and hiring managers to see this is something I have a passion for, it could be really good for my career.
