The Saxbys Experiential Learning Platform Expands to New England
Saxbys and BU Dining partner to bring experiential cafe to Boston University
Saxbys and BU Dining have partnered to expand The Saxbys Experiential Learning Platform (The Saxbys E.L.P.) to New England with a location at Boston University in January 2023. The cafe will open within the new Center for Computing & Data Sciences on Boston University’s Central Campus. Through The Saxbys E.L.P., Boston University students will be empowered to pursue real-life business and leadership positions in the experiential cafe.
Saxbys is a Certified B Corporation with plans to expand the E.L.P. model to locations across the country. The location is another first for Saxbys, serving as an investment in its leaders of tomorrow and a signal of its growth ambitions – the cafe will be a designated training ground for future Saxbys corporate leaders.
“Our cafe at Boston University is integral to Saxbys’ advancement in markets outside of Philadelphia,” said Nick Bayer, Founder & CEO of Saxbys. “It is imperative that we empower the young leaders who have contributed to our success thus far – they’re the ones that will continue to make us successful as we expand.”
Saxbys will also be open to the Boston University community, with a vision to serve as an entrepreneurial lab and home for case studies. “At Saxbys, we’re passionate about the transparency of our data in service of education,” said Dr. Liz Langemak, Director of Academic Platforms at Saxbys. “We actively collaborate with professors and students across our partnerships, allowing students to experience and solve real-world challenges. We believe that the most impactful learning occurs when lessons learned inside the classroom can be reinforced with examples from outside the classroom, and we work to promote that harmony in everything we do.”
“Our partnership with BU Dining and the world-class Boston University is a huge milestone for us. Our first New England cafe, our first Boston cafe –this is a key part of our expansion plans into the Northeast,” said Bayer. “The Center for Computing & Data Sciences building is like nothing I’ve ever seen before –we’re proud that Saxbys is contributing to the innovative culture and growth at Boston University.”
