We’re Teaming Up With Scholly & Science Leadership Academy to Help Philly Students

Have you heard of this super cool app called Scholly? If not, you’re about to. Scholly co-founder (and Drexel University undergrad) Christopher Gray recently appeared on ABC’s Shark Tank, and his pitch for Scholly, a mobile and web app that makes scholarships much more accessible to students, resulted in the most heated Shark fight ever (you can watch a clip here). Chris wound up walking away with a joint offer from investors Lori Greiner and Daymond John of $40,000 for a 15 percent stake in the company. Since the episode aired on Friday, Scholly has already risen to number one in the App Store.

We here at Saxbys agree with the Sharks — it’s an amazing product. So that’s why we’ve partnered with Scholly and Philadelphia’s Science Leadership Academy to provide free Scholly memberships to all current and future seniors at SLA.

“Knowing that there was an opportunity to take all of this unused scholarship money and make it available for the best and the brightest, that was something I wanted to be a part of. It aligns perfectly with Saxbys mission, which is to Make Life Better,” explained Saxbys CEO and founder Nick Bayer. And Philadelphia’s Science and Leadership Academy is just the right fit. “I think this is one of the coolest places I’ve ever seen for pre-college education,” said Nick.

Nick, Christopher, and SLA Principal Chris Lehmann broke the news to SLA students today, and seniors immediately whipped out their laptops to sign up for Scholly (see it for yourself in this clip from 6ABC below). It’s been a thrill to support an up-and-coming Philly company like Scholly, and we’re even more pumped that we’re helping out Philadelphia students.
